At Halton Hills Roofing  we’ve been serving the Halton region’s roofing needs for over 22 years, in this time we came up with the 4 Steps to Satisfaction!

1. Estimate / Assessment: 

This is when we looking at the size of the roof and pitch, design needs, ventilation, number of layers, offer a variety of green options and see if any aspects of the roof can be recycled as well as discuss when it’s most convenient to get the job done.

2. Removal and disposal of existing roof:

Protect your property: gardens, windows, patio, stones, siding. Ensure our tools and vehicles do not disrupt the client or leave any marks behind. Strip roof down to bare wood and repair roofdeck where necessary. Inspect chimney, ventilation, skylights for deterioration and ensuring proper seal.

3. Roof replacement:

First step is to install ice and water shield on the bottom, 3 feet of roof and metal into the valleys. Cover entire roof surface with felt paper vapour barrier, a layer of protection that keeps out moisture. Install adequate ventilation and soffit ventilation – this is important as the roof and attic breathes. If your attic maintains the same temperature as outside year round it means the insulation and ventilation are correct. Reinstall shingles, replacing the necessary flashing to ensure proper drainage and ensure the life of the roofing and aesthetics.

4. Final Inspections:

All eavestroughs are cleaned out. Protective material is removed and a magnet is run around the property to ensure loose nails are found.

Cataracts develop over time and create opacities that cloud the lens, resulting in impaired, dimmed or cloudy vision. As the cataract grows, it increases the distortion of vision.

There is no known cause of cataracts, but researchers believe that the risk of developing cataracts increases with cigarette smoking, extreme alcohol consumption and excessive exposure to ultraviolet radiation. Diabetes and certain types of medication, including steroids, are also thought to increase the risk of developing cataracts.

Cataracts can develop in people of all ages, but they are most commonly found in adults over the age of 55.

When cataracts begin to develop, they don’t normally cause discomfort, but there are symptoms you can watch out for. These symptoms include blurry or filmy vision, increased sensitivity to light and glare, double vision or poor night vision, distorted colours and temporary improvement in nearsighted vision (also known as second sight).

The good news is that surgery to remove cataracts is fairly simple and is very common. During surgery, your eye’s natural lens will be removed and will be replaced with an artificial plastic intraocular lens. The surgery is painless and can help restore your vision. If you have cataracts in both eyes, each eye will be treated on different days.

To help prevent the development of cataracts, many optometrists recommend wearing sunglasses regularly and adding foods that are high in antioxidants to your diet.
